We are very excited to report that we held our very first design workshops to celebrate the launch of the Rebuild Lawncrest Recreation Center and Library projects. The workshops were held on Wednesday, December 9 and Saturday, December 12 . Both events offered the Lawncrest community the first opportunity to discuss the upcoming improvements. We are pleased to say that over 50 community members logged-on, representing the diversity that Lawncrest is known for. Both meetings featured live translation in 4 different languages: Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese and English.
The interactive meetings featured time for attendees to un-mute and directly share their opinions. There were also opportunities for attendees to interact with live on screen activities and share how the facilities are currently being used, how they would like to use them, and what the Rec Center and Library mean to them as community members.
Attendees were also given an idea of the project schedule and goals over the coming months. Upcoming project activities include: installation of interactive posters on site and more community design workshops in the Winter- Spring of 2021.
