June 2026 Update

Construction continues to move forward. In this update, take a peek at the interior spaces including the renovated auditorium, the dance room, and the new building addition.

Interior Spaces and Places

The basketball hoop is up in the new gym located in the new building addition! With a few more finishes the space will be ready for games, practice, and fun.

The existing gym is looking brighter with new windows and light fixtures. The new HVAC system will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. New flooring is in progress!

Step by step, it’s all coming together. The dance room tile floor is being laid. Your dance shoes will be needed soon.

New windows in the rec leader’s office are letting in plenty of natural light.

New fencing. New lights. New hoops. New court. Game on! (Well, almost)

The playground is coming along quite nicely. What a transformation!

Lawncrest Pool Update

The City of Philadelphia Capital Program Office (CPO) is excited to share the planned improvements for Lawncrest pool and the inclusion of a new sprayground!

Construction will begin in June 2026 and is anticipated to be completed in 9 months.

Improvements to the pool area will include:

• New pool with ADA ramp entry

• New pool deck

• New sprayground

• New fencing with integrated light poles and security cameras

• Replacement of the retaining wall

• Replacement of entry wall, gate and fencing

• Renovated restrooms

• An all gender restroom

• Renovated pool staff office

The pool renovations are being managed by the Capital Program Office, designed by GFT Architects, Inc, with aquatics designers Weston & Sampson, and constructed by general contractor Smith Construction. This project has been supported by Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, Council Member Anthony Phillips, and State Representative Anthony Bellmon.

Designed for families, swimmers, and sun-seekers alike, the pool features lap and leisure areas, an ADA ramp, and plenty of deck space.

Interactive jets, splash elements, and an overflow bucket at the new sprayground are designed to give kids a safe, refreshing, and fun-filled place to cool off all summer long!
